Iceland Network Cable to Europe

Getting Connected

In addition to keeping your data centre operations in the ideal power profile, Verne Global keeps your facility secure and well-connected with ample bandwidth.

Network Connectivity

Verne Global is connected to the entire world via some of the most redundant, high-capacity, multi-terabit-per-second connections including FARICE-1, DANICE and GREENLAND CONNECT. Our facility is a mere 20 milliseconds from both London and Paris and 41 milliseconds from New York. That latency is more than sufficient for disaster recovery, cloud computing, research computing, database hosting and general business applications.

The new DANICE cable links us to Denmark and the Netherlands with a capacity of 5.1 terabits per second. The DANICE route was chosen to reduce latency to Central and Eastern Europe, and also provides proximity to connection points in Stockholm and Amsterdam. The FARICE-1 cable to the UK has a capacity of 0.72 terabits per second and has operated with no impact since its original installation in 2003. You can also take advantage of the Tele-Greenland fiber optic cable, which connects Iceland to Canada and the northeast United States with a total capacity of 1.9 terabits per second.

In terms of service providers, Verne Global is carrier neutral. You are free to find the best service at the best price for your needs. Our experts can work with your network team in planning your carrier strategy.

Getting to Iceland

Verne Global is very accessible via commercial air carriers. There are flights from a number of cities in the UK, Europe and US, often at various times of day. Travel times range from under three hours from parts of Europe to just over five hours from New York.
